Special thanks to Pete (georgiarose16) for the tutorial. I used an AT4040 microphone and Grand Auditorium Taylor Guitar to record this track.

OasisDNA: Every placement of the mic will produce a different sound. It's a beautiful mic and I? am certain you will be happy with it. Good luck man!
OasisDNA: Oh absolutely!! Microphone? placement is crucial for sound. If you want a higher tone place the microphone around the 12th fret and not directly in front of the soundhole. If you place the mic directly in front of the sound hole you will get the most heavy bass sound. Experiment at different positions. See where YOU like the sound. Do a test all the mic placed anywhere from directly in front of the bridge and work your way up the guitar/fretboard.
hawg427: Do you think the 4040 would record my Martin HD-28 well? The HD-28 is MUCH more bass pronounced? than the Taylors. Would they work well together?
